Sustainability at Sportsgirl

We heard you and we care. The collection is not only made for style but also to reduce environment impact in the industry. It’s time to change for the better. We are committed to help reduce environment waste by performing a close-loop cycle.

The range is made from BCI Cottons, Recycled Cottons and ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon.

BCI, also known as Better Cotton Standard is a holistic approach to more sustainable cotton production. Licensed BCI farmers are educated and produce cotton with minimal damage impact for the environment. It has been proven that BCI Cotton uses 20% less water, 14% less pesticides and 18% less synthetics fertiliser which results in the reduction of environment pollution.

Recycled Cotton, or also known as regenerated cotton will be collected through drop-boxes across our physical stores of unwanted garments and donations. These cotton fabrics will be converted into cotton fibre which can be reused again in textile products to close the loop.

Nylon itself is made from extracting crude oil, also known as petroleum. It is unknown to us when the fabric breaks down and leaves behind toxic residues. ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon which can be recycled, recreated and remoulded over and over again without having to use new resources.

Additionally, each product within the new collection has been made with an international standard certified by FAIRTRADE. We have partnered with FAIRTRADE to ensures fair prices, living wages and community benefits for our partner manufacturers and suppliers.

We heard you and we care.

But it is not possible for us to be the only one who cares for our Mother Earth.

With your support, we can make a difference.
